High Yellow

Too White, struggles to find her place within the black community, Too Black, who all too often finds herself as the only brown person in the room, and speaking for the entire black community, and Just Right, the fully integrated brown woman who knows how to stand in her own sunshine. This memory play told in prose through the eyes of three sides of the same mixed race woman.

Shepherd of The Great Mountain -

A princess breaks with tradition and scales an un-scalable mountain to prove to the king and the people of the kingdom that she is just as fit to rule as any man. This play is inspired by the story of Julia Archibald Holmes, the suffragist and abolitionist who, in 1858, became the first woman on record to summit Pikes Peak.

Pieces of Him -

Pieces of Him is set on the night of Fredrigo Bianci’s memorial service. The remaining members of the Bianci family retire to the family home where they attempt to tie up the loose ends created by Fredrigo’s sudden passing. Each member of the family has his/her own intentions, secrets, and baggage that he/she brings with him/her. Over the course of this one evening, we see how family dynamics bend and change in the wake of the loss of this family’s strong, loving patriarch.
